Recent reports of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) cases in the United States have heightened concerns about the control and prevention of mosquito-borne diseases. EEE, though rare, is a highly dangerous disease caused by mosquitoes, capable of leading to severe brain inflammation, neurological damage, and, in some cases, death. The risk is particularly elevated for children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems.

Dengue is a viral infection characterized by high fever, intense headaches, and severe joint and muscle pain. In severe cases, it can progress to dengue hemorrhagic fever, leading to internal bleeding and potentially fatal outcomes. Malaria, transmitted by mosquitoes, is caused by Plasmodium parasites, with symptoms including recurring chills, fever, and anemia. Severe cases can result in kidney failure, coma, and death. Globally, millions succumb to these mosquito-borne diseases each year, especially in tropical and subtropical regions where the threat is most severe.
